Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use zeroproofdesign.com or buy from Zero Proof Designs, LLC, doing business as Zero Proof Design ("we," "us"). By placing an order, you agree to them.

1. Handmade products

Every piece is made by hand from natural hardwood. Grain, color, and figure vary from board to board, and photos are representative. These differences are part of handmade work, not defects.

2. Orders and pricing

Prices are in U.S. dollars, and sales tax is added where required. We may refuse or cancel an order, including if an item is mispriced or unavailable. If we cancel, you'll get a full refund.

3. Custom and engraved orders

You're responsible for checking the spelling, names, dates, and layout you give us. Once production starts, custom and engraved orders can't be cancelled, and they are final sale unless we made the error.

4. Payment

Payment is due in full at checkout. Payments are processed securely through Squarespace by Stripe.

5. Shipping, returns, and refunds

Shipping times, carriers, and delivery issues are covered in our Shipping Policy. Returns and refunds are covered in our Return Policy. Both are part of these terms.

6. Use and care

Our cutting boards and board care products are made for kitchen use when cared for as directed: hand wash, dry thoroughly, and oil regularly. Don't put them in a dishwasher or leave them soaking. Wood is a natural material; cracking or warping caused by improper care isn't covered. Board butter and oil are for wood surfaces only. Do not eat them, and keep them away from children and pets. Anyone with nut, wood, or other sensitivities should check the materials listed on each product before use.

7. Custom projects and services

Custom projects, repairs, engraving, and other services are quoted separately. The written quote or invoice for that job controls its scope, price, and timeline.

8. Warranty disclaimer

We stand behind our work and will make things right if something we made has a defect in workmanship. Except as required by law, products are otherwise provided "as is," without other warranties, express or implied.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Zero Proof Designs, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the product involved.

10. Our content

The photos, text, designs, and logos on this site belong to Zero Proof Design. Please don't copy or use them without permission.

11. Reviews and submissions

If you send us a review, photo, or message, you allow us to share it on our site and social media. We'll never post your personal contact information.

12. Affiliate links

Some links on our site are affiliate links. We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and we only recommend products we use.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by California law. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.

14. Changes

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. The version in effect when you place an order applies to that order.
